Fascia replacement - fix the cause, not just the board
Fascia is the horizontal board at the edge of the roof that carries the gutter and closes the roof line where the rafter tails end. When fascia rots, sags, or pulls away from the framing, water gets behind it and starts damaging the roof deck, the rafter tails, and eventually the soffit and interior wall. In Miami, fascia rot almost never starts with the fascia - it starts with a failed drip edge or a gutter that overflowed one time too many.
That's why every fascia replacement we do begins with the cause: correct the drip edge and back-flashing behind the fascia, verify the rafter tails are sound, and only then install the new fascia. Otherwise the new board rots on the same schedule as the old one.
