Move valuables away from the affected area
Furniture, rugs, electronics - anything you can safely relocate.

Place a container under active drips
A bucket, pot, or tub. Empty it as it fills.

Turn off nearby ceiling lights
If a fixture is near the leak, cut power to that circuit at the breaker.

Photograph the damage
Interior stains, dripping locations, and the exterior of the property if safely visible from the ground.

Do not climb onto the roof
Wet Miami roofs - especially tile - are extremely dangerous. Ever.
